How Sleepy Tie Improved My Gym Hair Game

If you are like me, you have seen Sleepy Tie advertised on Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok.

Sleepy Tie is exactly what it sounds like. A way to tie your hair up while you sleep, so that it looks good the next morning.

I was intrigued by these advertisements, however, I sleep with a sleeping bonnet. I was not completely sure I wanted to spend the money to buy one. I was worried I would not use it much.

Then I saw the Sleepy Tie, The Sporty Set. This was a Sleepy Tie that is used for working out.

I was curious if it would keep up with my gym routine. I also wondered if it would keep my hair less matted than a normal bun, top-knot, or ponytail.

Honestly, I needed help with my gym hair.

I was excited to try it out at the gym, so I bought one.

What it came with

It came with a case, the Sleepy Tie, and a headband.

Inside the case was a card to show how to use the Sleepy Tie.

The set was black, which is my favorite color to wear. Especially when working out.

-Case

The carrying case was made out of silicone.

It was flexible and seemed to be waterproof or water resistant.

-Headband

The headband was made out of spandex.

It was black and had the Sleepy Tie logo on the front.

The Sleepy Tie itself was bigger than I had imagined it to be.

I did order a size large due to the websites guide on sizing.

They had a small, medium, and large according to hair length and thickness.

Putting my hair up

As I was getting ready to go to the gym, I sat at my vanity and gave it a try.

Honestly, it took me a couple of tries.

Tip: I found it easier to start wrapping my hair around the sleepy tie while looking in the mirror. Then, I wrapped my hair while not looking in the mirror.

The mirror really threw me off while wrapping my hair for some reason.

My hair was wrapped, now it was time to secure my hair with the Sleepy Tie.

Securing hair

I took the half of the Sleepy Tie that my hair was not wrapped around in my hand. I made a figure 8 by it twisting it around.

This half of the Sleepy Tie had two scrunchie-like loops. I used both loops as one when making the figure 8.

Then I pulled the scrunchie-like loops over the hair wrapped around the Sleepy tie.

This secured my hair.

Headband

Now that my hair was secured in the Sleepy Tie, it was time to put on the headband.

The headband did tame down the baby hairs and fly away hairs I had.

It felt a little tight on my head. I decided to leave it on during my workout to see if it would loosen up.

If you have bangs and want them out of your face, this headband maybe a good choice for your workout. How do you secure your bangs while working out? Please put in the comments.

Time to hit the gym

I wanted to make sure I documented before, during, and after my workout.

At first I thought my hair was really up high on my head and looked a little odd.

Nonetheless, I am the gym girly who always looked a hot mess.

I was there to work on me. I was not worried what anyone else thought.

The thought my hair was too high on my head only lasted a brief moment.

Plus, to be honest, it made my hair look more polished.

Normally, at the gym, my hair was in a top-knot with sprigs of baby hairs stuck out everywhere.

My husband calls it my wicked witch look.

Mid workout

I did about 45 minutes of cardio on the elliptical.

I did not take any pics of myself while doing cardio. I am not, nor have ever been that coordinated.

I did take a picture of my hair in the Sleepy Tie while doing strength training. I do about 20 – 30 minutes of strength training after cardio.

What is your workout routine?

Sleepy Tie was still in place, and kept my hair out of my face.

The Sleepy Tie was surprisingly lightweight for as big as it was.

I had no problems with it bouncing around, moving or feeling heavy on my head while I worked out.

Post gym

After my workout, I returned to my car. I decided to take some more pics to see how well the Sleepy Tie did.

I did not take any pictures of my hair before I put it in the Sleepy Tie. I also forgot to take pictures after I took it down.

I wanted to focus more on how it did at the gym during my workout.

I can tell you this. My hair looked exactly the same when I got home and took it down. It looked just as it did when I put it up.

Conclusion

How my gym work out went with Sleepy Tie Sporty Set.

Pros

*It stayed put on my head.

*It kept all my hair out of my face.

*It held up through weight training and cardio.

*It was extremely light weight, even though it looked like it was not.

*The carrying case was nice for keeping the Sleepy Tie and headband together. It was great for just throwing in my gym bag.

*My hair did look great after my workout. Especially compared to my normal top-knot bun.

Cons

*The headband was tight on my head..

*My hair did seem to be pretty high up on my head.

Would I recommend?

I would absolutely recommend the Sleepy Tie Sport to all the gym girlies.

Having manageable hair after my workout was nice. Looking more put together during my workout was also nice. While the headband was tight on my head, it was not so tight that it impaired my workout. This was a much better alternative to my normal ponytail or top-knot.

How do you fix your hair for your workouts? Please share.

Again, I did not use the Sleepy Tie for sleep. I sleep in a bonnet. So I can only speak to how my work out went with it. Stay tuned for a post about sleeping bonnets in the future.

Wishing you the best gym and hair days.

Remember to be uniquely yourself!

Flauntly Yours,
A
