I recently went to a birthday party with a theme. I love a theme!! However, this theme was very much something I have never done before.
The theme was “classy bohemian”
Knowing the birthday girl, I knew everything was going to be amazing and on theme. The entire party, from decor, music, fashion, makeup, the whole thing was going to be classy bohemian. There was pressure to make sure my outfit was no doubt on theme as well.
Side note my hubby knocked it out of the park on his as well. I was very impressed.

What I wore to this birthday party was completely out of my normal go to attire, however, we had the best time and my outfit ended up being very comfortable.
The Dress
I did some research on “classy bohemian” as I knew this was a theme I was not familiar with at all. After a couple of weeks of looking I decided on a dress I found on Amazon.

Shoes
Now that I have chose the dress, shoes were the next thing to figure out. I was torn between cowboy boots I had that had gold details on them and these sandals that I had and ended up going with. I have had these for a couple of years and they are comfortable. Knowing there would be music and dancing, I chose the comfortable choice.
These are Bedstu sandals. I had gotten them at Buckle a few years ago.

Accessories
Every good outfit, especially an outfit for a theme needs great accessories to make it pop. Again this whole thing is out of my comfort zone and was very indecisive.
The earrings I chose were actually ones I have had for quite some time and had never worn, they were a gift a while ago. However, they matched the the necklace I chose to wear.

The necklace I wore was one that I wear a lot. It is a one that my husband got me when our beloved pitbull passed away. It holds some of her cremates and is very special to me.

Another accessory I wore with this outfit was a hair clip. I found one that was gold and dainty and matched the dress I had chosen very well.

Finished Look
Finally it all came together.

I also added a cropped jean jacket. Had never been to the venue this was at before. Was unsure if it was going to be hot, cold, or anything in-between.

Conclusion
In conclusion, step out of your comfort zone anytime you get the chance. It challenges you and lets you experience new things. Things you may find you love.
The party was a lot of fun. Everyone at the party looked wonderful. It was definitely a whole vibe. I expected nothing less.
Now I am in love with the classy boho look. It was a positive experience to be able to do something new, and have a wonderful evening celebrating one badass birthday girl.

What do you think about stepping out of your comfort zone fashion wise? What outfits have you made for a theme party in the past?
Do you think I pulled off a theme appropriate look?
