Hangers

One of the most important things with fashion is taking care of our clothes. Especially when we have them stored until the next time we wear them.

I know all closets are different shapes and sizes. No matter what kind of closet you have, I have found one easy way to keep your clothes hanging well, looking good, and to add more space to your closet.

Velvet hangers.

Space

The first thing I noticed as I switched out all of my hangers from the plastic ones to the velvet ones was that my clothes now took up about half the space that they did on the plastic hangers.

This is a picture of the first ones I bought and used. They are huggable hangers. I bought them at Target.

Color

I was worried with the color of the hangers. Would the color wear off on my clothes? Especially my lighter colored clothes since these hangers are a dark purple.

As of now, I have had many velvet hangers from different brands and colors.

I have not had an issue with any of the colors of any of the hangers transfer on to my clothing.

I did buy some lighter colored ones as I was worried at first.

Sliding off

The first sets of velvet hangers I bought I was worried about certain garments sliding off of them.

This was not an issue with any of my clothes except for my camis.

I hang them up instead of folding them in a drawer due to limited drawer space.

I ended up ordering the following on amazon and they are amazing for any cami’s or tank tops, or any other tricky clothing that needs a notch.

The only thing I have not enjoyed about these is that these seem to break if you are too rough with them. The other velvet hangers seem to not have this problem.

Preserves Clothing

Something I was ecstatic about was no more hanger nipples on sweaters or other shirts.

With the plastic or metal hangers, some clothing especially sweaters, would get bumps on the shoulder or arm.

Taking clothing off of a hanger they should not have bumps or lumps that stay when the article of clothing is being worn.

My clothing also does not slide around on the hangers and into the floor of the closet.

Conclusion

Switching from plastic and metal hangers to velvet hangers was a great change.

There is a lot more space in my closets, my clothing is kept in place and does not slide into the floor, and no more lumps and bumps left on my clothes when they are off of the hanger.

You can buy velvet hangers at most stores in the home goods section.
